B20 China First Joint Taskforce Meeting Held In Washington D.C. United States

B20 2016 Host Committee held the first joint taskforce meeting in Washington D.C. of the United States on April 17, 2016.

Vice Chair and Sherpa of B20 China Yu Ping delivered speech

 

Yu Ping, Vice Chair and Sherpa of B20 China, B20 taskforces Chairs and Co-Chairs, and more than 300 representatives from 220 Chinese and foreign enterprises and international organizations attended the meeting.

B20 taskforces discussed their respective draft policy papers, reached consensus on a variety of issues and made proposals on further improvements. The attendees said the draft papers were concrete, well-targeted and practicable and laid a solid foundation for producing the final policy recommendations for G20. based on discussion at the meeting, the taskforces will revise their drafts and have further discussion at the teleconference scheduled in early May.

The meeting coincided with the annual Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. Ma Jun, Chief Economist at the People's Bank of China, Zhu Min, Deputy Managing Director of IMF, Yi Xiaozhun, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, and Anabel Gonzalez, Senior Director for Trade and Competitiveness of World Bank, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. They gave their opinion about the world economy and the outlook of the Chinese economy, and expressed the hope that the B20 will play an active role in promoting reform on global economic governance and in helping the world achieve a robust, balanced and sustainable growth.
