More than 400 global business representatives attended the 5th World Business Leaders Conference in Kunshan on May 19. Jiang Zengwei, Chairman of the CCPIT, Zhang Lei, vice governor of Jiangsu Province, Long Guoqiang, deputy director of State Council Development Research Center, Long Yongtu, former vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and economic cooperation, and former secretary-general of Boao Asia Forum, and Virginia Cram-Martos, Director of Economic Cooperation and Trade Division, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches.
As one of the most important events of the import fair, the World Business Leaders Conference has become increasingly influential since its first hosting in 2012. This year’s conference focuses on two themes, including “opportunities and challenges--world economic conditions under fluctuation”, “Cooperation and win-win--active promotion of global trade and economic cooperation”, to provide suggestions for the world economic development.
Jiang Zengwei mentioned in his speech that the current world economic recovery is meeting with difficult complexities and there are still many uncertain and unstable factors impeding the recovery. This requires the concerted and sustained efforts of all governments and business industries. He suggested the world business industry shall enhance connection and communication to increase trade and investment cooperation. It is also imperative to promote policy coordination to create good business environment, and deepen communications to share business opportunities. The CCPIT and CCOIC will work closely with trade and investment promotion institutions and governments of foreign countries to create more platforms and provide more support for the corporate communication and cooperation. The aim is to make contributions to the world economic recovery and the development of economic relations among all countries.
Zhang Lei said that the business industry plays a leading role in the promotion of economic and trade growth. This conference has invited international economic organizations, world business associations, leading business entrepreneurs and famous economists to share experiences and forge consensus. This will play an active role in promoting cooperation of world business industry and the world economic prosperity. He suggests that it is necessary to make use of this conference to deepen the communication with business industry of other countries to create a better future.
