ITC officially launched 337 investigations on video security equipment and systems, related software

On September 8, 2021, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to launch 337 investigation on specific video security equipment and systems, related software, components of, and products containing the same (investigation Code: 337-ta-1281).

On August 9, 2021, Motorola solutions, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois, avigilon Corporation of Canada, avigilon fortress Corporation of Canada, avigilon patent holding 1 Corporation of Canada and avigilon Technologies Corporation of Canada filed a 337 investigation application with ITC of the United States, claiming exports to the United States The product imported and sold in the United States infringes its patent righ (U.S. registered patent No. 7868912, 10726312, 8508607), and requests the U.S. ITC to issue a limited exclusion order and prohibition order.

Verkada Inc. of San Mateo, CA is the listed defendant.

The U.S. International Trade Commission will determine the completion period of the investigation within 45 days after filing the case. Unless rejected by the United States trade representative for policy reasons, the relief order issued by the United States International Trade Commission in case 337 shall take effect from the date of issuance and shall have final effect on the 60th day after the date of issuance.
