Since September, Shanghai immigration inspection authorities have processed about 49,000 passengers, an increase of about 40 percent over the same period last month, according to local authorities.
During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, about 550 inbound and outbound passenger and cargo flights passed through immigration at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with a total of 12,000 passengers.
Among them, there were about 3,900 overseas students entering and leaving for a new semester globally, accounting for 32.5 percent of the total inbound and outbound passengers.
Since September, the average daily number of inbound and outbound cargo aircraft at Pudong International Airport has totaled nearly 200, an increase of 5 percent from the previous month and more than 30 percent from the same period last year.
