Britain plans to cancel tariffs on more than 3000 kinds of products in Nigeria

Nairobi, Jan. 27 (xinhua zhuo-qun li) abuja news: the British government will cancel from Nigeria import tariffs on more than 3000 kinds of products, in order to promote trade with Africa's largest economy. In Nigeria, cocoa, cotton, plantain, flowers, chemical fertilizer, tomatoes, frozen shrimp and sesame exporters will benefit from it.

According to the international trade department (DIT) recently released a report that the second quarter of 2022, total trade between the UK and Nigeria for 5.5 billion pounds (about $6.8 billion). Since the British withdrawal from the eu in 2020, Nigeria as Africa's largest oil producer, became one of the UK's plans to expand trade country.

Report shows that the new tariff system covers more than 3000 kinds of products now average tariff of 7%. once the new trade terms come into force in this spring, tariffs will be cancelled.
