The 135th Canton Fair concluded in Guangzhou on the 5th.Since its opening on April 15, a total of 246,000 overseas purchasers from 215 countries and regions have participated offline, an increase of 24.5% from the previous session and a record high.Zhou Shanqing, Director of the Canton Fair News Center and Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Center, said that statistics show that this Canton Fair received 160,000 buyers from countries co-building the “Belt and Road”, an increase of 25.1% over the previous session; 50,000 European and American buyers, an increase of 25.1% from the previous session; year-on-year growth of 10.7%.119 industrial and commercial organizations including the China-U.S.
General Chamber of Commerce, the 48 Group Club of the United Kingdom, the Canada-China Business Council, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in Turkey, and the Victoria Construction Industry Association in Australia, as well as Walmart in the United States, Auchan in France, Tesco in the United Kingdom, Metro in Germany, and IKEA in Sweden. 226 leading multinational companies, including Coper in Mexico and Nitori in Japan, participated in the conference offline.The offline export turnover of this Canton Fair was US$24.7 billion, and the online platform export turnover was US$3.03 billion, an increase of 10.7% and 33.1% respectively over the previous session.Among them, exhibitors’ transactions with countries co-building the “Belt and Road” reached US$13.86 billion, an increase of 13% over the previous session.Zhou Shanqing said that this year’s import Exhibition of the Canton Fair has 680 companies from 50 countries and regions participating in the exhibition, of which 64% are participating companies from countries co-building the “Belt and Road”.Pavilions from Türkiye, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and India plan to continue organizing groups to participate in the next edition.After the closing of the offline exhibition of this Canton Fair, the online platform will continue to operate on a regular basis, and a series of precise trade docking and industry theme activities will be organized online.The 136th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from October 15th to November 4th this year.The Canton Fair, the full name of China import and Export Fair, was founded in the spring of 1957 and is held in Guangzhou every spring and autumn.The Canton Fair is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Guangdong Province and hosted by the China Foreign Trade Center.
