Quanzhou, Fujian, deepens commercial law cooperation with ASEAN

The seminar was hosted by the Quanzhou Municipal Government and Southwest University of Political Science and Law. It aims to promote the deepening of commercial legal cooperation between ASEAN and Quanzhou and safeguard investment exchanges and sustainable development of enterprises on both sides. 

During the seminar, the organizers held a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Quanzhou Municipal Government and Southwest University of Political Science and Law, unveiled the "Quanzhou Research Institute of the China-ASEAN Legal Research Center", and held the "Maritime Silk Road Investment Risk Early Warning Comprehensive Service Platform" and the establishment ceremony of the Maritime Silk Road Rule of Law Fund. The seminar was themed "Innovative Development of the 'Jinjiang Experience', Escorting the High-quality Development of Private Enterprises' Going Out'", and conducted in-depth exchanges, dialogues and discussions around the three sub-topics of "Police Cooperation Escorting the High-quality Development of the Private Economy' Going Out'", "Construction of the China-ASEAN Legal Service Platform", and "Compliance Issues of Private Enterprises Investing in ASEAN Countries".

 It is reported that with the continuous advancement of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and the construction of the Quanzhou "Maritime Silk Road" pilot zone, ASEAN has become Quanzhou's largest trading partner.In 2023, Quanzhou's exports to ASEAN countries amounted to 64.5 billion yuan, accounting for one-third of the city's total exports; from January to May this year, Quanzhou's imports and exports to ASEAN countries exceeded 30 billion yuan, maintaining a strong development momentum.
