Chinese and foreign representatives discuss high-quality development of recycled non-ferrous metals

The 2024 Recycled metals Southeast Asia International Forum, hosted by the China Nonferrous metals Industry Association and organized by the China Nonferrous metals Industry Association Recycled metals Branch and other Chinese and foreign institutions, was held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand from the 17th to the 19th. The theme of this forum is "Join hands for innovative development and share a green future", with nearly 600 representatives from 24 countries and regions attending the conference and exhibition.

 During the forum, Chinese and foreign representatives discussed how to jointly promote the high-quality development of the global recycled nonferrous metals industry around topics such as Thailand's industrial development and investment environment, China's recycled nonferrous metals development and international cooperation, exploring market opportunities in Southeast Asia, and the current status and development of industries in Europe, the United States and the Middle East. Wang Jiwei, deputy secretary-general of the China Nonferrous metals Industry Association, said in his speech that the current global recycled nonferrous metals industry is showing a trend of diversified layout, regional cooperation, and accelerated digital transformation. 

It is necessary to accurately grasp the new situation and seize new opportunities, and put forward four suggestions on empowering the industrial chain, supporting the green growth of the local economy, strengthening innovation leadership, and strengthening industrial synergy.Li Xiaobo, Chairman of the China Enterprises General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, said in his speech that with the vigorous development of Thailand's new energy vehicle industry, it is expected that the sales volume of new energy vehicles in Thailand will exceed 100,000 in 2024, which will bring huge market demand for the recycled non-ferrous metal industry and provide more opportunities for cooperation between China and Thailand in related fields. In his speech, Wicky, President and Advisor of the Thai Recyclers Association, reviewed the development history of Thailand's recycling industry and said that this forum provides a valuable platform for exchanges between recycled non-ferrous metal enterprises in various countries. 

Other representatives of the Thai government and industry associations at the meeting introduced the details of Thailand's support for non-ferrous metal recycling, relevant policies and industrial development trends. Representatives from Southeast Asian countries such as Laos, Malaysia and Vietnam shared their latest policies, plans, incentives, and industrial status and challenges. During the forum, a China-Thailand Recycled metal Industry Investment Dialogue was also held. Representatives of the two sides focused on discussing market access strategies, industrial support policies, talent introduction and other issues of most concern in the actual operation of enterprises, laying a good foundation for subsequent communication and coordination.
