On March 22 local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the sixth China-Japan high-level economic dialogue with Japanese Foreign Ministers in Tokyo, Japan.
Officials at the Chinese Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the General Administration of Customs, and the Japanese Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economics and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment attended the meeting. The two sides agreed to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enrich the connotation of China-Japan strategic mutual relations in the economic field, and jointly strive to build a constructive and stable China-Japan economic and trade relations that meet the requirements of the new era. The dialogue reached twenty important consensuses:
1. Strengthen green development cooperation, and hold the 18th China-Japan Comprehensive Forum on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection and the China-Japan Carbon Emission Reduction Policy Dialogue in China in 2025. Strengthen green trade and investment cooperation and maintain communication on renewing the long-term China-Japan trade agreement memorandum.
2. Strengthen ecological and environmental cooperation, and hold the 4th China-Japan High-Level Roundtable Dialogue in China in 2025 to carry out mutual visits and exchanges between young China-Japan environmental workers.
3. Japan welcomes China to participate in the 2027 International Horticultural Expo.
4. Strengthen pragmatic cooperation in the fields of elderly care services, nursing, etc., and cultivate the silver economy. China welcomes Japan to hold an exchange meeting on the aging industry in China.
5. The two sides reached an agreement on further promoting cooperation between China and Japan third-party markets, jointly assessing the progress of cooperation projects, and continuing to promote economic cooperation among enterprises in third-party markets.
6. Japan supports China in hosting the 8th China International import Expo. China supports Japan in hosting the 2025 Osaka Kansai World Expo. Promote economic and trade cooperation among localities, and support cooperation such as China-Japan (Chengdu) urban construction and modern service industry open cooperation demonstration projects.
7. Accelerate service trade cooperation and hold a Sino-Japanese service trade policy dialogue in Japan in 2025.
8. In 2025, the Sino-Japanese Vice-Ministerial level consultations will be held, and the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Vice-Ministerial level of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Economics, Industry and Economics, and Industry will be held regularly. Continue to carry out cooperation in the automotive field and continue to hold China-Japan automotive dialogue. China and Japan support each other in holding the World Skills Competition.
9. The two sides encourage the General Administration of Customs of China and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan to continue to carry out ministerial dialogues on food safety cooperation between China and Japan.
10. Strengthen supply chain cooperation and continue to hold China-Japan export control dialogue and government-enterprise exchange activities.
11. A meeting of the China-Japan Working Group for Optimizing the Business Environment will be held in Japan in 2025 to promote the provision of a fair, transparent and predictable business environment.
12. Strengthen cooperation in intellectual property protection, including the China-Japan Intellectual Property Working Group.
13. Hold dialogue between Chinese government departments and the Chinese Japanese Chamber of Commerce.
14. Discussion on holding dialogues between Japanese government departments and the Chinese Enterprise Association in Japan.
