Taking exhibition as a platform to further expand Chengdu's international market

In the past three years, the construction of "three cities and three capitals" in Chengdu has made remarkable achievements, and more "achievements" have been transformed into the real sense of happiness that Chengdu people can perceive.

In the target construction of "exhibition city", the total revenue of Chengdu's exhibition industry has exceeded 100 billion yuan for three consecutive years. In 2020, it will achieve 105.3 billion yuan, an increase of 13.2% compared with 2017. The number of annual major exhibition activities and exhibition area will increase by 48% and 162% respectively. There will be 200000 square meters of new exhibition venues, which will be settled in six world-famous exhibition enterprises.

On April 8, 2021, Chen Fu, President of Chengdu Council for the promotion of international trade, met with Temur nadiroglu, business representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in China, special envoy and Plenipotentiary, najak halilov, chief consultant, and Su Hong, vice president of Chengdu Council for the promotion of international trade.

During the meeting, Temur nadiroglu introduced the relevant situation of 13 enterprises organized by Azerbaijan to participate in the 104th national sugar and wine fair and set up the Azerbaijani National Pavilion. He said that the sugar and Wine Fair is the most important exhibition of Chinese food and wine. The effect of this exhibition is very ideal, and it will continue to participate in the form of national pavilion next year.

It is hoped that by strengthening exchanges and cooperation with CCPIT Chengdu, it will help Azerbaijani food, agricultural products and wine enterprises to further develop the Chengdu market, and support enterprises from both sides to participate in each other's important exhibitions.

He pointed out that one belt, one road initiative of Azerbaijan has been actively responded to, and a lot of work has been carried out practically. Among them, the Azerbaijan national brand Museum, established in Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu, will be opened in the near future. We hope to discuss with Chengdu the relevant parties the route of the opening of the European Unio's open line, and let the "trans Caspian international transportation corridor" of Azerbaijan road to play a greater role.

Chen Fu, President of Chengdu Council for the promotion of international trade, introduced the development of Chengdu's economy, society and exhibition industry, expressing the hope of strengthening exchanges and contacts between the two sides and establishing a normalized working mechanism.

At the same time, invite Azerbaijani enterprises and government delegation to participate in major economic and trade exchange activities in Chengdu, such as the sugar and wine fair, the Western China International Fair and the European Economic and trade fair, to assist Azerbaijani enterprises in expanding Chengdu market; organize Chengdu enterprises to attend major exhibitions in Azerbaijan, so as to jointly promote bilateral cooperation in the field of economy and trade.

Chen Fu suggested that the business representative office of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Chengdu hold more special promotion activities on Azerbaijani cultural tourism and food, agricultural products and wine.

At the same time, in order to facilitate the exchanges between Chengdu and even southwest China and Azerbaijan, Chen Fu suggested that Azerbaijan consider opening direct tourism or freight routes from Baku to Chengdu. Chengdu will fully assist in promoting relevant work, and help promote the "cross Caspian international transport channel" of Chengdu Europe train.
