Li Keqiang attends the second global green goal partnership 2030 Summit

On May 30, Premier Li Keqiang attended and addressed the second global green goal partnership 2030 summit in the form of video.

Li Keqiang said that the novel coronavirus pneumonia is still rampant around the world, and the world economy is unstable and uncertain. The global green and sustainable development is facing severe challenges. In the face of difficulties and shocks, the international community should keep watch and help each other, work together in the same boat, strive to achieve development and green transformation, promote each other, and promote quality and upgrading.

Li Keqiang pointed out that as the largest developing country in the world, China needs to make arduous efforts to achieve low-carbon green development in the process of realizing modernization and enabling Chinese people to live a happy life in the middle of this century, which has no precedent in human history. China's president Xi Jinping announced China's efforts to achieve carbon peaked before 2030 and carbon neutralization by 2060. China will establish and improve a green low-carbon circular development economic system to promote the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development; Take carbon reduction as the key strategic direction to promote the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction. China will host the 15th Conference of the parties to the Convention on biological diversity in October this year, and is willing to work with the international community to push global biodiversity governance to a new level.

Li Keqiang put forward three suggestions

First, we should work together to win the global fight against epidemic. Without the end of the epidemic, it is difficult for all countries to develop at ease. In the face of the common enemy of the virus, no country can be left alone. Unity and cooperation is the "right way" to overcome the epidemic. We need to strengthen international cooperation to fight the epidemic and further improve the global health governance system. At the same time, we should strengthen policy coordination to ensure the security and stability of the global industrial chain supply chain in the form of "fast channel" and "green channel".

Second, we should change our thinking and promote green and low-carbon transformation. Countries should never return to the old path of high pollution and high emission development. They should firmly pursue win-win results in economic development and ecological and environmental protection, and resolutely curb the impulse of extensive growth. We should seize the new opportunities of new business formats, accelerate digital transformation, and stimulate new momentum of development to promote high-quality development.

Third, take care of the special difficulties of developing countries. The international community should adhere to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, attach great importance to the concerns and demands of developing countries, increase technical, financial and capacity support, and help them realize green and low-carbon transformation. We should maintain the multilateral trade rules system with the World Trade Organization as the core, guard against new green trade barriers, and oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism.

Li Keqiang stressed that green determines the quality of future development. China is willing to work with all parties to promote green recovery and create a better future for mankind.

The second global green goals partnership 2030 summit was hosted by South Korea and held by video. Leaders of more than 60 countries and international organizations attended.
