Ge Haijiao said that as the only Chinese-funded financial institution in Sierra Leone, Bank of China has witnessed and participated in the development process of the continuous deepening of friendly cooperation between China and Sierra Leone.According to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the People's Bank of China and the National Bank of Serbia, in December last year, the People's Bank of China authorized Bank of China (Serbia) Co., Ltd. to serve as the RMB clearing bank in Serbia.Bank of China will focus on high-quality services to customers in China and Serbia, promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges and other key tasks, further facilitate the use of RMB in bilateral trade and investment, effectively play the role of a financial bridge, and deepen and enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia, and build a new The China-Serbia community with a shared future continues to contribute in this era.
Tabakovic said that the current bilateral economic, trade and financial cooperation between China and Serbia continues to deepen, and the scale of Serbia’s RMB business is increasing day by day.The Central Bank of Serbia will actively support the Bank of China in fulfilling its functions as a RMB clearing bank, enrich RMB usage scenarios, further facilitate Serbian companies to carry out cross-border settlement and investment and financing activities, and make RMB play a more important role in the Balkans and Central and Eastern Europe.Representatives from more than 50 institutions including the Central Bank of Serbia, the Banking Association, the Industry and Commerce Association, and Chinese and Serbian enterprises and financial institutions attended the event.
