The top leader of Botswana said his country is willing to further strengthen bilateral ties with China and welcome more Chinese investment.
The President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi made the remarks as he was attending and giving a speech at Botswana-China Business Forum in Beijing on August 31, during the President’s state visit to China and attendance of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Masisi noted, Botswana boasts good geographical location, an abundance of natural resources and good climate conditions, thus bears huge development potentials in infrastructure construction, mining, agriculture, finance, manufacturing, etc. Currently, Botswana’s government has been dedicated to speeding up the diversification of its economy and mapping out a series of policies to attract foreign investment, and create favorable business environment. Botswana’s government is willing to foster bilateral relations with China for more practical cooperation and welcome more investment from China.
Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiang Zengwei said, China and Botswana bear advantages in resources and industries, complement with each other in economy. The two countries are good cooperation partners. The upcoming 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has given impetus to the economic and trade cooperation between China and Botswana. CCPIT will set up more exchange platforms to provide information, consultation, commercial and legal services for enterprises of both sides to boost bilateral cooperation.
More than 300 entrepreneur delegates attended the forum. And business-to-business match-making meetings in the fields of infrastructure construction, manufacturing, agriculture, energy, mining industry and information technology were also held. A batch of cooperation intentions were reached.
