CCPIT & 18 African trade and investment promotion agencies signed MoUs

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and 18 trade and investment promotion agencies of African countries signed 17 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in Beijing on September 4, on occasion of the High-level Dialogue between Chinese and African Leaders and Business Representatives and the Sixth Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs.

CCPIT Chairman Jiang Zengwei noted, as the representatives of Chinese and African business communities, CCPIT and chambers of commerce of African countries shoulder responsibilities in deepening Sino-African economic and trade cooperation and promoting China-Africa friendship. Through close cooperation in mechanism, both sides can provide more cooperation platforms and better services for Chinese and African enterprises, benefiting both peoples.

Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, and Professions (UACCIAP) praised CCPIT’s contribution in promoting China-Africa mutually-beneficial cooperation. He congratulated for the signing of MoUs between CCPIT and African trade and investment promotion agencies. Wakil said, Africa and China bear huge cooperation potentials. Africa welcomes investment from China. UACCIAP is willing to foster cooperation with CCPIT to jointly advance win-win development of Africa and China.

The MoUs aim at establishing exchange platforms for Chinese and African business communities and fulfilling the achievements at the Sixth Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs. According to the MoUs, CCPIT and African trade and investment promotion agencies will set up respective business councils, map out annual work plans, exchange of visits on a yearly basis, provide commercial legal services, and support enterprises of both sides with trade and investment promotion events.

Currently, CCPIT has established bilateral and multilateral business cooperation with more than 340 foreign trade and investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, and international organizations, which has covered major global economies, emerging markets and China’s neighboring countries.
