China-ASEAN Cross-Border E-Commerce Development Forum, as a sideline event of the 15th China-ASEAN Expo, was held in Nanning on September 13.

The forum, co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and China-ASEAN Center, and organized by CCPIT Information Center, and Secretariat of China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit, invited around 350 participants including delegates from the business communities of China and ASEAN countries, diplomats of the embassies of ASEAN countries in China and cross-border e-commerce enterprises.

CCPIT Vice Chairman Chen Zhou noted, CCPIT has been dedicated to promoting the cooperation in cross-border e-commerce between China and the rest of the world. CCPIT is willing to join hands with ASEAN countries to beef up internet infrastructure construction, build up cross-border e-commerce full-process service system, expand the publicity of cross-border e-commerce platforms and push forward intergovernmental policy coordination so as to foster China-ASEAN cooperation.

ASEAN countries have gradually attached importance to enacting and improving policies and regulations relevant to cross-border e-commerce. The market entry barriers have gradually been released with reduced trade cost of cross-border e-commerce cooperation and broadened trade channels. Meanwhile, small-and-medium-sized enterprises of China and ASEAN countries have played more essential role in the global value chain.
