The China-Venezuela economic and trade cooperation forum and bilateral entrepreneurial council meeting were held in Beijing on September 15.
Visiting President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gao Yan attended and addressed the forum.
Maduro said, he and President Xi Jinping reached consensus on strengthening China-Venezuela economic and trade relations and opening a new era for bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, which gave impetus to bilateral business ties. Venezuela will fully support Venezuela-China bilateral entrepreneurial council, safeguard investment interests of Chinese enterprises in Venezuela and boost bilateral business ties.
Gao Yan said, with the joint efforts of leaders of both countries and the two governments and business community and by favor of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, China-Venezuela economic and trade ties achieved progress and development.
“China and Venezuela bear complementary economies. Both sides can achieve mutual benefits, win-win and common development through the matching of development strategy and practical cooperation. We can further explore the cooperation potentials in energy, trade, investment, engineering, labor services, etc,” added Gao.
Investment environment and cooperation opportunities of Venezuela were shared at the forum. Nearly 200 enterprises from China and Venezuela in the fields of energy, infrastructure, mining, agriculture, etc. attended the forum and match-making meeting.
