The European Arbitration Center of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) opened in Vienna on September 28. Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Lu Pengqi, Chinese Ambassador to Austria Li Xiaosi and President of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) Günther Horvath attended the unveiling ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Lu Pengqi hailed the well-developed economic and trade relations between China and Austria. The establishment of CIETAC European Arbitration Center aimed to offer quality, favorable and customized services for relevant parties in Europe and Belt and Road countries, to further deepen China-Europe economic and trade cooperation and to better serve the Belt and Road construction.
About 100 Chinese and foreign delegates from arbitration, business communities and academic circle attended the opening ceremony.
Meanwhile, Lu Pengqi also paid a visit to the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) and further exchanged views with President Horvath on deepening bilateral cooperation.
