The 20th West Lake International Expo Hangzhou China & the 5th International E-Commerce Expo Hangzhou China kicked off in Hangzhou on October 20. CCPIT Chairman Gao Yan made remarks and declared the opening of the expo at a ceremony attended by Secretary of CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee Zhou Jiangyong, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Zhu Congjiu and Mayor of Hangzhou Xu Liyi.
Gao Yan pointed out at the remarks that as a pioneer of China’s reform and opening up, Zhejiang has always been leading the country in the effort and played a crucial role in implementing China’s major national strategies. As China’s pilot city for IT application, e-commerce and e-government, Hangzhou has made remarkable achievements in modern innovative development and nurtured a large number of famous innovative companies like Alibaba and has become a “city full of innovative vigor”. CCPIT is working to further promote investment and trade, international economic and trade cooperation under the “Belt and Road” Initiative and is willing to deepen cooperation with Zhejiang and Hangzhou in organizing major events like the West Lake International Expo to play a bigger role in promoting the high-quality economic and social development of China and creating premium quality life for our people.
Co-hosted by CCPPT and Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government and other organizations, this year’s expo consisted of a series of events, including a theme exhibition, Hangzhou Bay Forum and citizen leisure festival as well as dozens of parallel expos, forums and cultural activities.
