The 2019 work conference for China’s trade promotion system was held on January 4 to 5 in Beijing. The conference reviewed the progress of China’s trade promotion in 2018 and outlined new plans and tasks in 2019.
Gao Yan, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) hailed the achievements that the trade promotion agencies of China at all levels have made in 2018 despite the complicated domestic and global situation and the escalating China-U.S. trade frictions.
Gao added, China’s trade promotion agencies at all levels shall shoulder more responsibilities and undertake more tasks in the year of 2019, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Gao said, CCPIT and its sub-councils in provinces and all industries will organize more high quality trade and investment promotion events, better serve enterprises in the Belt and Road construction, assist enterprises in tackling Sino-U.S. trade frictions, proactively participate in the global economic governance, further reforms in trade promotion system, and complete missions in poverty eradication.
Group panel discussions were held after the conference. Nearly 300 delegates from CCPIT sub-councils in provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and all industries, as well as CCPIT subsidiary departments, overseas trade representative offices and pilot free trade zone service centers attended the conference.
