Prices of Edible Agricultural Products Increased and Prices of Means of Production Continued to Rise

According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (September 10-16), the national market prices of the edible agricultural products increased by 1.6% over the previous week and that of the means of production increased by 0.5% over the previous week.

In the market of the edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.51 yuan per kilogram, up 4.4% over the previous week, with the prices of cauliflower, green pepper and bitter melon increasing the most by 16.8%, 12.3% and 12% respectively. The wholesale price of meat continued to increase. Among these, the prices of pork, beef and mutton were 21.03 yuan, 53.46 yuan and 50.45 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 2.5%, 0.4% and 1% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of poultry increased in general. Among these, the prices of eggs, chickens and ducks were 10.26 yuan, 16.37 yuan and 17.54 yuan per kilogram, up 0.9%, 0.7% and 1% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale prices of cereals increased slightly. The prices of flour and rice rose by 0.3% and 0.2% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of aquatic products continued to drop. Among these, the prices of sea fish like little hairtail, little yellow croaker and large yellow croaker decreased the most by 3.3%, 1.2% and 0.6% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of edible oil dropped slightly. Among these, the price of peanut oil dropped by 0.3% and the prices of soybean oil and rapeseed oil remained the same as those of last week.

In the market of production means: the price of basic chemical raw materials rose by 1.6% over last week, with the prices of sulphuric acid, methyl alcohol and caustic soda up 2.6%, 1.6% and 1.1% respectively and that of sodium carbonate remaining stable. The price of rubber rose by 0.5%, with the price of natural rubber up 1% and that of synthetic rubber down 0.2%. The price of chemical fertilizer rose by 0.5%, with those of urea, KCL, NPK and DAP up 0.6%, 0.4%, 0.4% and 0.3% respectively. The price of steel rose by 0.4%, among which the prices of seamless steel pipe, high-speed wire rod, screw-thread steel and common round steel were 5144 yuan, 4476 yuan, 4381 yuan and 4447 yuan per ton respectively, up 0.7%, 0.5%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively. The price of non-ferrous metal increased by 0.3%, with the prices of copper, nickel and lead up 1.1%, 1% and 0.4% respectively and those of aluminum, zinc and tin down 0.7%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. The price of coal rose by 0.1%, among which the price of steam coal was 598 yuan per ton, up 0.2%, the price of blind coal was 862 yuan per ton, down 0.1% and the price of coking coal was 749 yuan per ton, remaining the same as that of last week.
