At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez will pay a state visit to China on July 28-31.
Duque, 43, once worked as a consultant in the Development Bank of Latin America, and the director of Culture, Creativity and Solidarity Division of the Inter-American Development Bank. He was a senator of Colombia from 2014 to 2017.
Duque was elected Colombia's president in June, 2018 and assumed office on Aug. 7, 2018 for a four-year term.
This is his first state visit to China.
