On November 12, China Railway Construction 20 bureau group, China Communications construction joint venture and the Brazilian government of bayia jointly signed the franchise contract of El Salvador cross sea cable-stayed bridge, marking the formal construction stage of the largest sea crossing cable-stayed bridge in Latin America. The signing of the contract will be conducted by means of live and video connection. Costa, governor of bayia state; Yang Wanming, Chinese ambassador to Brazil; Li Yang, Consul General of China to Rio de Janeiro; Chen Zhong, vice president of China Communications Construction; Wang Wenzhong, vice president of China railway construction; Deng Yong, chairman and party secretary of China Railway 20th Bureau, attended and witnessed the signing of the project.
The El Salvador bridge is located in El Salvador, the capital of Brazil's Bahia State, with a total length of 46.8 km, of which 12.4 km is a sea crossing bridge. The main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge. The main tower is 205 meters high, the maximum span is 450 meters, and the sea water depth is 60 meters. The project is the largest bridge project invested by Chinese enterprises in Latin America in PPP mode, and will become the longest cross sea cable-stayed bridge in Latin America after completion.
