CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met with President of Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT) Kono Yohei in Beijing on December 17. Both sides exchanged opinions on enhancing cooperation between CCPIT and JAPIT and promoting China-Japan trade and economic relations under the new situation.
Gao Yan noted, as important trade partners, China and Japan are highly complementary in trade and economy and enjoy broad prospect for cooperation. Since 2017, China and Japan bilateral trade and investment have been back on the track of growth, injecting confidence to the business circles of both countries. JAPIT is an important partner of CCPIT in Japan, she added, CCPIT is happy to work together with JAPIT in seeking more common interests and points for growth so as to build more platforms to encourage companies from both countries to bring their advantages into full play and materialize more practical cooperation projects, contributing to China-Japan trade and economic relations.
According to Kono Yohei, the successful meeting between the two heads of state this year injected new vitality to the bilateral relations and the warming of China-Japan relations and the rapid growth of Chinese economy are helpful for the business communities of both countries to conduct further cooperation. He also added, Japan is highly interested in China’s high-tech development and is willing to step up exchanged with China in this field. Kono Yohei also spoke highly CCPIT’s contribution to promoting China-Japan economic and trade relations and invited CCPIT to organize more delegations to Japan for trade promotion. JAPIT is willing to maintain regular exchange with CCPIT to build more platforms for trade and investment and create more business opportunities for companies of both countries, he also noted.
Also present at the meeting were Secretary General of Chinese Chamber of International Commerce Yu Jianlong as well as heads of CCPIT Department of Development Research and Department of Trade and Investment Promotion.
