CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan attended the First International Cooperation Forum on World Expo Development in Shanghai on December 13 and stressed the importance of promoting the construction of community of common destiny through the World Expo platform. Secretary General of Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) Vicente Loscertales, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Xu Kunlin and Chairman of World Expo Museum Hong Hao also attended the forum.
Gao Yan noted, win-win cooperation and mutual exchanges is the only way to achieve common prosperity. The idea of building community of common destiny proposed by President Xi Jinping has gained the recognition of an increased number of countries and peoples. World Expo is committed to advocating exchange and cooperation, promoting peaceful development, which is in line with the goal of constructing the community of common destiny.
“We shall take full advantage of the World Expo to promote opening and cooperation and to show the mega-trend of opening up and integration of all countries so as to add new vitality to world economic growth by promoting innovative development, trade and investment to create more opportunities and potential for international trade and investment and promoting mutual learning among different cultures to deepen the cultural cooperation among all countries. China will continue to open wider for a new pattern of all round opening up to construct the community of common destiny and make new contributions to a better future,” added Gao.
The forum was jointly held by CCPIT, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, BIE, China Chamber of International Commerce and World Expo Museum. The forum attracted over 350 representatives from BIE state members, foreign embassies and chambers of commerce, and governments at all levels of China.
