Prices of Edible Agricultural Products and Prices of Means of Production Dropped Slightly Last Week

According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (October 29-November 4), the national market prices of the edible agricultural products decreased by 0.3% over the previous week and those of the means of production 0.1%.

In the market of the edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.28 yuan per kilogram, down 2.7% over the previous week, with the prices of cauliflower, broccoli and lettuce decreasing the most by 14.8%, 11.1% and 10.4% respectively. The wholesale price of aquatic products continued to drop. Among these, the prices of large hairtail, crucian and grass carp decreased the most by 2.6%, 1.4% and 0.5% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of poultry continued to drop. Among these, the prices of chickens and eggs were 16.14 yuan and 9.81 yuan per kilogram, down 0.4% and 0.1% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of edible oil dropped slightly. Among these, the price of soybean oil and the price of peanut oil decreased by 0.3% and 0.2% respectively over the previous week and the price of rapeseed oil increased by 0.1%. The wholesale prices of cereals remained stable with the prices of rice and flour staying the same as those of last week. The wholesale price of meat increased slightly. Among these, the price of pork was 21.07 yuan per kilogram, the same as that of last week and the prices of beef and mutton were 55.09 yuan and 53.55 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 0.1% and 0.3% respectively over the previous week.

In the market of production means: the price of non-ferrous metal decreased by 1.7%, with the prices of zinc, aluminum and copper down 2.4%, 1.9% and 1.3% respectively. The price of rubber dropped by 0.7%, with the prices of synthetic rubber and natural rubber down 0.8% and 0.6% respectively. The price of chemical fertilizer was stable, with the prices of urea and NPK unchanged. The price of steel rose by 0.1%, among which the prices of high-speed wire rod, channel steel and screw-thread steel were 4563 yuan, 4420 yuan and 4465 yuan per ton respectively, up 0.4%, 0.3% and 0.2% respectively. The price of coal rose by 0.1%, among which the prices of coking coal and blind coal were 781 yuan and 883 yuan per ton, up 0.5% and 0.3 respectively and the price of steam coal was 607 yuan per ton, remaining the same as that of last week. The price of basic chemical raw materials rose by 0.9% over last week, with the prices of sulphuric acid and sodium carbonate up 3.4% and 0.3% respectively and those of polypropylene and methyl alcohol down 1.7% and 1.6% respectively.
