KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has partnered with AladdinStreet China to enhance Malaysian palm oil market in China by leveraging on the e-Commerce platform.
MPOB said in a statement Tuesday that its Palm Oil Research and Technical Institute in China (PORTSIM China) has forged the strategic alliance, which is achieved by capitalizing on the incentives and facilities offered under the Belt and Road initiative.
"AladdinStreet has a very strong marketing strategies in helping the merchants to market their products in e-Commerce," MPOB said.
To support the Malaysian palm oil industry and MPOB, AladdinStreet China will grant free registration worth total 300,000 RMB (about 45,176 U.S. dollars) for 10 Malaysian palm oil exporters or merchants who successfully join its platform on first come first serve basis.
MPOB opined that e-Commerce is the game changer and the way forward for the Malaysian palm oil industry to further enhance its accessibility to the world's market effectively.
As Malaysia is moving toward the e-Commerce economy by establishing the Digital Free Trade Zone, MPOB believes it is timely for Malaysia's plantation industry players to grab the opportunity through the platform provided AladdinStreet China, to strengthen the market in China.
