More respondents from developing countries recognized their positive impact on individuals, up 8 percentage points from 2018 to 61%. Meanwhile, more than one half of overseas respondents one look forward to the one belt, one road initiative, which will play a more significant role in the smooth flow of trade and the linkage of facilities. The interviewees hope to "promote the economic and trade development between China and its own country" and "create platforms and opportunities for the overseas development of domestic enterprises" in terms of smooth trade, and "promote the construction of infrastructure such as roads and railways" and "more transport networks connecting countries" in terms of facilities connectivity. China's expectations for one belt, one road initiative are far more than that of developed countries. Among them, the proportion of policy communication, common people's hearts and financial integration is two times that of developed countries.
The report also shows that China's idea of civilized exchanges and mutual learning is highly recognized. More than 70% of overseas respondents agree that China's proposal of civilized exchange and mutual learning has brought positive significance to individual, national and global governance. The positive impact of the "China Program" on civilized exchanges and mutual learning among developing countries is much higher than that of developed countries.
Compared with the results of the survey in 2018, overseas respondents have a more positive evaluation of China's economic influence, among which respondents from developing countries recognize China's economic development more than those from developed countries.
At the same time, overseas respondents believed that Chinese food (53%), traditional Chinese medicine (47%) and martial arts (43%) were the most representative of Chinese culture. High speed rail is still the most recognized technology in China. 68% of overseas respondents think that China's scientific and technological innovation ability is strong, and more than 80% of respondents from developing countries are recognized.
