The reporter learned from the China Railway 25th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. on the 22nd that, as the last 30-meter T-beam was safely settled, the erection of the Zhaojiacun No. 2 Bridge on the Kun (Ming) Chu (Xiong) Expressway was completed. This marks the key project of the “Belt and Road” construction and the China-Myanmar interconnection channel entering the final sprint stage.

It is reported that the Kunming-Chu Expressway is located in the central part of Yunnan Province, connecting Kunming City to the east and Chuxiong Prefecture to the west. It is the main economic trunk line connecting Kunming City to West Yunnan, Northwest Yunnan, Southwest Yunnan and Tibet-related areas. After the project is completed, it will become the main route of the "seven out of the province and five out of the border" highways in the expressway network of Yunnan Province, and an important part of the major international routes connecting South Asia and Southeast Asia.

According to relevant personnel from the 25th Bureau of China Railway, the project builder, the line has a total length of 114.9 kilometers, six lanes in both directions, and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Zhaojiacun No. 2 Bridge, which was erected this time, has a total length of 276 meters and a maximum pier height of 46.59 meters. The bridge spans a "V"-shaped valley. The cutting depth on both sides of the valley is large, the terrain is undulating, and the safety risk is high.

In order to successfully complete the construction tasks, the builders insist on pre-class education, regular safety training and technical explanations of key and difficult procedures for the construction personnel. The project department held a special pier column reinforcement protection layer control meeting and organized technical discussions to overcome the problems of large longitudinal slope, small curvature radius, and tight erection period of the beam transportation, and ensure the smooth completion of the project node goal.

As part of the “13th Five-Year” highway expansion and reconstruction plan of the Ministry of Transport, the Kun-Chu Expressway will be connected to the Dabao Expressway in Chuxiong and directly connected to Myanmar via Ruili. This will promote the integration of China and Myanmar and help the construction of the “Belt and Road”. It is of great significance.
