BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Standard Bank, Africa's largest bank by asset, has participated in the China International import Expo (CIIE) for four times to promote the trade between China and African countries, reported Economic Information Daily Monday.
At the fourth CIIE ongoing in east China's Shanghai Municipality, by cooperating with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Standard Bank has provided 50 clients from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda with rich opportunities for exchange and cooperation.
These clients engage in businesses of wine, nuts, edible oil, tea, coffee and other agricultural products that are widely sought after in the Chinese market.
In addition to leading African exporters to participate in the CIIE, Standard Bank also launched an online interactive activity during the expo, allowing African exporters to have one-to-one and "face to face" communication with Chinese customers through the internet.
During previous CIIE events, Standard Bank has made a commitment to help African exporters ease trade challenges and access to the Chinese market. As part of Standard Bank's China-Africa trade solutions, this commitment connects its African clientswith export capabilities with suitable Chinese importers, and tracks the export process through complete guidance throughout the export value chain.
As an African bank committed to promoting China-Africa trade and investment cooperation, Standard Bank has also partnered with ICBC to integrate their superior resources and launch a series of RMB products and services, such as direct remittance between China and Africa, cross-border RMB settlement for goods trade and financing services, etc.
