China's automobile exports registered a significant year-on-year growth of 60.8 percent to 180,000 units in February this year, with new energy vehicles contributing to 52 percent of the export growth, reported Shanghai Securities News Thursday quoting the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- China's automobile exports registered a significant year-on-year growth of 60.8 percent to 180,000 units in February this year, with new energy vehicles contributing to 52 percent of the export growth, reported Shanghai Securities News Thursday quoting the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

CAAM data also shows that in February, the exports of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles respectively recorded 146,000 units and 34,000 units, up 72.3 percent and 25.4 percent year on year.

The auto exports in the January-February period this year increased by 75 percent year on year to 412,000 units, with passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle exports standing at 331,000 units and 81,000 units, up 84 percent and 45.7 percent year on year, respectively, according to CAAM.
