China and Malaysia sign cooperation plan for jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative

On November 5, 2024, the prime ministers of China and Malaysia jointly attended the exchange ceremony of cooperation documents such as the cooperation plan for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" between the two countries. Liu Sushe, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, and Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia, signed the "Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Malaysia on the Joint Construction of the "Belt and Road"" on behalf of the governments of China and Malaysia respectively.

The "Cooperation Plan" adheres to the principles of consultation, joint construction and sharing, adheres to the concepts of openness, greenness and integrity, and aims at high standards, benefiting people's livelihood and sustainability. It focuses on promoting policy communication, infrastructure connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people exchanges, and deepens the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides in key areas such as infrastructure, aviation, energy, trade and investment, ecological and environmental protection, finance, education, science and technology, health, culture, tourism, sports, and media.

The signing of the "Cooperation Plan" will effectively promote the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Malaysia, deepen practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries, add new impetus to the common development of the two countries, and better benefit the people of the two countries.
