Linyi Free Trade Zone was approved by the State Council on August 8, 2014. Approved planning area of 3.7 square kilometers， Linyi Free Trade Zone is the 41st of the nation, the 3rd of the province ，it is located in National Linyi Economic and Technological Development Area in the southeast of the city. With a short distance to seas and ports, it has advantageous location and convenient transportation. It is only 10 kilometers away from Linyi airport, about 15 kilometers away from the downtown area. It is in the vicinity of national highway 327, and in the connecting line between Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway and the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway; it plays a radiating and exemplary role of connecting the east and west, serving Qingdao, Yantai, Lianyungang and other coastal cities to its east, and Jining, Zaozhuang, Heze and other inland cities to its west.
