Shandong will take equipment manufacturing as an important industry and increase investment and strengthen research and development in the sector, according to a notification released recently by the people's government of Shandong province.
As a strategic emerging industry, the high-end equipment manufacturing is the core link of the value chain and industrial chain and determines the comprehensive competitiveness of the entire industrial chain.
By 2025, Shandong is expected to develop a modern industrial system dominated by new technology, new product, new business form and new model, cultivate a host of enterprises, products and brands representing the leading image and level of Chinese high-end equipment, and build itself into a national first-class and world-renowned high-end equipment manufacturing base.
Taking advantage of its geographical location, transportation and resources, Shandong aims to foster an industrial belt along the Jiao Ji and Jing Hu railways, which will radiate neighboring cities to optimize their industrial patterns and adjust industrial structure, promote the transformation from industrial concentration to industrial cluster and accelerate the construction of a new industrial development pattern of the high-end equipment manufacturing highlighting "three cores and one belt".
Great efforts will be made to develop five strategic emerging equipment industries, namely, the new generation information technological equipment, marine engineering equipment and high-tech shipping, advanced rail transit equipment, intelligent manufacturing equipment and aerospace equipment, to build a strong support for China as a leading country in modern equipment manufacturing.
The five equipment industries with special advantages will also be improved and strengthened intending to foster a new benchmark of China's high-end equipment such as the new energy vehicle, high-performance numerical control machine tool and robot, high-performance medical equipment, high-end energy equipment and intelligent agricultural equipment.
