Recently, Sun Deshi, deputy mayor and secretary of Lanshan District Committee, led a delegation to Kenya and Nigeria for friendly visits and economic and trade exchanges, further deepening the friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between our city and African countries.
During his stay in Kenya, Sun Deshi attended the 2024 China Linyi (Kenya) International Commodity Exhibition, which had 95 Linyi companies and 8 Linyi companies in Kenya. It was the largest overseas self-organized exhibition in our city in recent years. A precise matchmaking meeting for buyers was held at the same time; he held discussions with representatives of overseas chambers of commerce and enterprises such as the Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Kenya Shandong Chamber of Commerce on promoting cooperation in investment, centralized procurement and supply trade, logistics and warehousing, etc. He attended the unveiling ceremony of the Shandong Overseas Mall in Kenya and conducted on-site investigations of three companies in our city in Kenya, including the Shandong Geo-Mineral Diatomaceous Earth Project Department and Rongchang Wood Industry.He visited Phyllis Kandi, adviser to the Executive Office of the President of Kenya and former Minister of Trade, Tourism and East African Affairs, Pius Rodich, Director of the Investment Bureau, and Henry Matic, Director of the Standards Bureau, and had in-depth exchanges on promoting cooperation between our city and Kenya in the fields of trade logistics, agricultural machinery, mining machinery, new energy light commercial vehicles, photovoltaic power generation, etc. During his stay in Nigeria, Sun Deshi conducted on-site research on the Volkswagen Industrial Park invested by our city in Nigeria and attended the unveiling ceremony of the overseas warehouse of Linyi Mall in Nigeria.
He attended the Linyi-Nigeria Economic and Trade Exchange Conference with Gabriel Idahosa, Chairman of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, unveiled the Linyi Mall Nigeria Liaison Office, witnessed the signing of the Volkswagen Carton Project between Shandong Zhongyang Group (Overseas Company) and Linyi Mall Group, Dayi Paper Co., Ltd. and Volkswagen Industrial Park, and invited them to participate in the Fourth RCEP Regional (Shandong) import Commodities Expo and the 2024 Linyi Mall International Buyers Conference. He visited Aida Tiwa, Governor of ondo State, and had in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation between the two sides in the fields of investment and trade, agricultural technology, and cultural exchanges.During the visit, Zhang Zhizhong, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, and Yan Yuqing, Consul General of China in Lagos, met with the delegation respectively.
