More than 300 Chinese and foreign guests gathered in Dali, Yunnan Province to discuss the constructi

The 2021 Forum on promoting the construction of global ecological civilization (Erhai) was held in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province on October 9. Officials, experts and scholars from 14 countries and 8 international organizations such as the United Nations, and more than 300 Chinese and foreign guests attended the forum to share the experience of ecological civilization construction and explore the way of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

At the forum, the guests discussed the construction of global ecological civilization around the theme of "jointly building ecological civilization and protecting the beautiful planet". Participants believed that countries all over the world are closely linked and it is very important to face ecological and environmental problems together.

Du Zhanyuan, director of China's Foreign Affairs Bureau, believes that to promote the construction of global ecological civilization, we should focus on common concerns, spread rational voices, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of global ecological civilization; Build an exchange platform, promote knowledge sharing and contribute wisdom to building a clean and beautiful world; Advocate multilateralism, promote international cooperation and pool joint efforts for a better future for mankind.

Guo Weimin, President of China Public Relations Association, said that in the face of ecological and environmental challenges, mankind is a community of destiny with prosperity and loss. We should actively carry out international exchanges and international communication, speak well about the concept, progress and achievements of China's ecological civilization construction, and promote international cooperation.

Kang Fu, Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN, said that the ASEAN region is one of the regions with the richest biological assets in the world, but the region is currently facing severe challenges. ASEAN countries must take immediate action and need stronger support from major partners, including China.

The forum also released a multilingual version of China key words: ecological civilization. The Secretariat of Erhai forum was unveiled on the same day. It is reported that the Secretariat of Erhai forum is permanent in China's foreign language Bureau, and has set up offices in Kunming and Dali. Erhai forum is an institutional meeting, which will be held every year from this session.

This forum has four parallel sub Forums: Chinese wisdom in ecological civilization construction, international communication of ecological civilization construction, "double carbon" goal: new opportunities for corporate image construction, and green finance helping ecological civilization construction.

The forum is guided by the Information Office of the State Council and the Ministry of ecology and environment, CO sponsored by the China Foreign Affairs Bureau, the people's Government of Yunnan Province and the China Public Relations Association, and undertaken by the China foreign books and periodicals publishing and distribution center (International Communication Development Center), the foreign cooperation and exchange center of the Ministry of ecology and environment, the Information Office of the people's Government of Yunnan Province and the people's Government of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.
