Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gao Yan met with Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Li Yong in Shanghai on November 6.
Li was in China for the first China International Import Expo scheduled from November 5 to 10.
Gao Yan said, UNIDO is an important organization in maintaining and promoting economic globalization. CCPIT and UNIDO have kept long-term friendly cooperation relations. Both sides have been putting what was agreed at the MoU in 2015 into practice, which would greatly endorse the industrialization process of the developing countries. CCPIT is willing to deepen cooperation with UNIDO in the Belt and Road construction, international capacity cooperation and global development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Meanwhile, both sides agreed to provide more commercial legal services and trade and investment promotion services for enterprises, contributing to achievement of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Li Yong said, CCPIT is an important cooperation partner of UNIDO and achieved much progress in the promotion of trade facilitation and e-commerce development. Li hoped UNIDO and CCPIT can further cooperation in trade and investment policy research and organizing professional training sessions in industrial development and e-commerce.
