The business forum between Ecuador and China, co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and chambers of commerce of Ecuador was held in Beijing on December 11. The visiting President of Ecuador Lenin Moreno attended and delivered a speech. CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan, Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fishery of Ecuador Pablo Campana Saenz and Minister of Economy and Finance of Ecuador Richard Martinez Alvarado attended and addressed the forum.
President Moreno said, Ecuador and China have long-term friendship. Now the two countries have established comprehensive strategic partnership. Currently, China has achieved great economic progress. Bearing abundant natural resources, open market and favorable business environment, Ecuador’s economy is highly complementary with the Chinese economy. Ecuador welcomes more investment from China.
Gao Yan said, the economic and trade cooperation between China and Ecuador is in large scale, broad range and all fields. Both sides shall promote the matching of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation, and integrate China’s advantages in capacity, technology and capital into Ecuador’s favorable market and resource conditions to achieve mutual benefit and win-win development. CCPIT is willing to cooperate with Ecuador’s relevant trade and investment promotion agencies to contribute to boosting bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
More than 200 delegates from Chinese and Ecuadorian business communities attended the forum. President Moreno and Gao Yan held a brief meeting ahead of the forum.
