A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) in Beijing on January 9.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Yin Zonghua, Vice President of CCOIC and William Zarit, Chairman of the AmCham China. Both sides discussed the Sino-US economic and trade cooperation, the Belt and Road construction as well as CCOIC-AmCham China cooperation.
Yin Zonghua noted, economic and trade cooperation is the ballast and stabilizer of Sino-US relations. The business community of China and the US has long been committed to promoting Sino-US friendship. It has been the engine for the development of China-US business cooperation and bilateral relations.
“Chinese government attaches great importance to the advice, suggestion and opinion of American enterprises. China will continuously strive for the Belt and Road construction and further expand opening up. I expect our two agencies can improve cooperation level and explore more business fields in a broader range and in more flexible way,” added Yin.
William said, just as CCOIC, the AmCham China also serves as a bridge for bilateral economic and trade relations. He suggested the two agencies play more important roles amid the current global economic situation.
“The Belt and Road Initiative is a focus within the global range. The AmCham China will proactively promote its member companies to participate in the Belt and Road construction, contributing to the promotion of Sino-US business ties,” added William.
According to the MoU, CCOIC and AmCham China will further deepen practical cooperation in trade and investment promotion, mechanism building, information sharing, exchange of visit, bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, information research, exhibition service, service capacity building as well as commercial and legal services.
