On December 23, 2018, the National Commercial Work Conference that lasted for one and half a days concluded in Beijing. Appointed by Minister Zhong Shan, Deputy China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister Fu Ziying summarized the conference and Vice Minster Wang Shouwen presided over it.
Fu Ziying pointed out that this conference was held at the time of China’s celebration for the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up and when the party and the country’s various causes were launched on the new journey, which is very significant. The conference thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 19th Communist Party of China National Congress and the deployment of the Central Economic Work Conference, comprehensively summed up the commercial work in 2018, and proposed the goals, ideas and measures for 2019.
Fu Ziying said that the participants made in-depth discussion on the work report by Comrade Zhong Shan and the Key Points of Commercial Work in 2019 (Draft). The delegates agreed that in 2018, the national commercial system upheld the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and resolutely implemented the major decisions and deployments of the Central Party Committee, commercial operations made steady progress and the high-quality development made positive progress. A solid step was taken in building an economic and trade power, implementing the six major tasks and promoting the eight major action plans and the commercial sector has achieved a good start in implementing the spirit of 19th Communist Party of China National Congress.
Fu Ziying required that we should earnestly unify thoughts and actions with the spirit of the central government, strengthen confidence and resolution, turn challenges into opportunities, and firmly do our own jobs well. In accordance with the requirements of high-quality development and revolving around the requirements of "six stabilities" put forward by the central government, we should do a good job in stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment. We should closely integrate the characteristics and advantages of each region, improve policy support, and strive to implement relevant measures and give full play to them. We must change our work style, make strong efforts in investigation and research, truly understand what companies and grassroots think and expect, and better respond to people's concerns.
Fu Ziying stressed that as the two festivals are approaching, we must earnestly do a good job in market supply at the turning of the year, ensure the enterprises’ production and operation such as trade, logistics, foreign trade and foreign investment, especially the work of preventing the extreme weather from causing unexpected incidents and letting our people enjoy a happy and peaceful holiday.
Representatives of the departments of commerce in Hunan, Shanghai, Beijing, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shandong, Liaoning, Sichuan, Guizhou, Ningbo made exchanges and share opinions at the conference.
