In May 23rd, the temperature of the old fellow railway construction site in Jinghong, Xishuangbanna, has suddenly increased to more than 30 degrees. The construction workers are burning hot sun and skillfully operating the track laying machine to lay a pair of 500 meter long rail to the entrance of the Jing Zhai tunnel, marking that the track laying of the old and old railway will reach the Jing Zhai tunnel successfully. It has taken another solid step for the scheduled opening at the end of the year.
The old fellow China Railway from Yuxi to Mohan section, north of Yuxi, Yunnan, passes through Puer and Xishuangbanna, and finally arrives at the border port between Laos and China, and the line is 508 km long. A total of 863.04 km of track laying on main line, 129.7 km of track laying on station line, 436 groups of turnouts and 1.5 million cubic meters of ballast need to be completed.
Up to now, the old fellow railway has completed 820 km track laying, and 98 km track laying, 410 sets of turnouts, 1 million 130 thousand ballasts and 95% track laying.
After the completion of the railway, the history of the railway in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan will be closed. The Jinghong city from Kunming to Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture will only need 3 hours to reach old fellow Vientiane in Laos. It is of great significance to improve the traffic conditions of Laos, form a large capacity railway passenger and freight transport channel along the line, and drive the rapid development of regional industrial economy.
