Linyi Zoo and Botanic Garden is located 1.5 kilometers northeast of Linyi City. It is surrounded on three sides by water. Its whole area is over 2000 mu (about 133 hectares). The whole garden is divided into five areas namely an animal landscape area, a queer stone forest area, a botanical landscape area, an economic forestry landscape area and a modern entertainment landscape area.
Up to now the garden has 78 kinds of wild animals which amount to 900 heads. It has successfully introduced 30 precious plants such as sorbifolia, buckeye and camphor and built over twenty special gardens such as a floral garden, a bonsai garden, a farmer’s garden, a bamboo garden and a camphor garden and a 60 hectare experimental and exemplary nursery base. The greening rate of the whole garden has reached 86%.
