    China has recalled 91.3 million cars and 7.23 million consumer goods last year

    By the end of 2021, 91.3 million cars had been recalled in China, and the problems mainly focused on electronic and electrical appliances, engines and other assemblies; A total of 80.27 million consumer goods were recalled, with electronics and appliances, food related products and children's products ranked among the top three. This reporter learned from the special press conference on "strengthening product recall supervision and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of consumers" held by the State Administration of market supervision in Beijing on January 20.

    According to statistics, in 2021, China implemented 232 automobile recalls, involving 8.73 million vehicles, with a year-on-year increase of 29%. A total of 549 consumer goods recalls were carried out across the country, involving 7.23 million products, mainly children's products, electronic appliances, household daily necessities, etc.

    In order to reduce the air pollution caused by motor vehicle emissions, the State Administration of market supervision and the Ministry of ecology and environment formulated and issued the regulations on the administration of motor vehicle emissions recall, which will come into force on July 1, 2021. Since the implementation of the regulations, the General Administration of market supervision has worked closely with the Ministry of ecological environment to strengthen the publicity and implementation of policies, establish a cooperation mechanism, strengthen supervision, and put the motor vehicle emission recall on the right track. Strengthen supervision on key emission parts such as crankcase forced ventilation device, reductant reservoir, three-way catalytic reactor and on-board automatic diagnosis system OBD of some models. By the end of 2021, a total of 1.44 million vehicles had been recalled nationwide.
