Recently, the handover ceremony of the Nepal solar public bathroom project and rooftop photovoltaic power generation project of "Heart to Heart Yunnan Tour" hosted by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was held in Lalitpur, Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
There are problems of insufficient tap water supply and power outages in the Kathmandu Valley and other parts of Nepal. The two projects delivered this time are implemented by the Yunnan Provincial Commercial Representative Office in Nepal and are located in the same community. They will effectively link up to improve people's living conditions, enhance the overall image of the city, and promote the sustainable development of the community with Yunnan's green energy technology. The public bathroom project is equipped with 4,000 liters of solar water heating facilities and 6 shower rooms, which can provide 100 people with bathing every day. The wastewater will be used for flushing toilets after treatment, and it will be reused on site. The rooftop photovoltaic power generation project has an installed capacity of 36 kilowatts and an annual power generation of about 60,000 kWh, which can continuously provide free electricity to the local community.
"Heart to Heart Yunnan Tour" is a series of "small and beautiful" public welfare and livelihood projects implemented by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean Rim. Since 2022, a total of 10 projects have been implemented in Nepal, covering infrastructure, human settlements, student aid and teaching, among which 5 projects use clean energy. The projects handed over this time are also included in the list of "Happy Communities" implemented by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal in Nepal. (Reporter Zhu Hai)
