China Southern Power Grid lights up the innovative cooperation between Chinese and Peruvian enterpri

The guests at the meeting discussed in depth the new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" and talked about the new vision for future development.

At the meeting, China Southern Power Grid Company released the Chinese and Spanish bilingual version of the "New Practice of China's Modernization of Southern Power Grid" report and displayed the Spanish version of the promotional film "Walking Ahead of the Light". The first overseas registered trademark "Pluz (Bo Luz)" was unveiled at the annual meeting, and many pictures of Latin American projects were seleced for the China-Latin America Joint Construction of the "Belt and Road" Practical Cooperation Photo Exhibition. Walter Sciutto, general manager of China Southern Power Grid Peru Boluz Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Peru Boluz Company), attended the meeting and spoke.

Walter Sciutto said that since joining China Southern Power Grid this year, Peru Boluz Company has received support from cutting-edge innovative technologies and rich experience in distribution network operation management, digital grid construction, and integrated energy services, achieving "double improvement" in power supply capacity and service level. He said that Peru Boluz Company is committed to promoting the modernization of local power construction. In the future, it will accelerate the introduction of new technologies, promote the digitalization, automation and intelligent metering applications of power grids, promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence in the operation process, and strengthen digital customer service capabilities.

It is understood that Peru Boluz Company is responsible for the power supply in the northern area of Lima, providing services to more than 1.6 million customers, accounting for 19% of the total number of distribution users in Peru, and is the distribution company with the largest number of users in Peru. In June 2024, China Southern Power Grid completed the acquisition of 83.15% of the shares of Peru Boluz Company and 100% of the shares of Peru Boluz Integrated Energy Services Company.

Walter Sciutto said that as the cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" goes deeper and more practical, the cooperation between Peru and China in infrastructure, energy and other fields is deepening. Next, with the support of China Southern Power Grid, Peru Boluz will actively respond to the "Belt and Road" initiative, strengthen cooperation, continue to innovate, comprehensively improve the company's power supply service capabilities and power supply quality, and inject new vitality into Peru's economic development.

China Southern Power Grid was established on December 29, 2002, covering five southern provinces and regions, and connected to the power grids of Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asian countries. It supplies power to an area of 1 million square kilometers, 272 million people, 116 million customers, and non-fossil energy accounts for 47.5% of electricity in 2023. China Southern Power Grid has been shortlisted in the Fortune Global 500 for many years, actively helping to achieve the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
