Belarus's international standard swimming pool built with Chinese assistance officially opened

Xinhua News Agency, Minsk, November 6 (Reporter Chen Ting) The Belarus International Standard Swimming Pool built with Chinese assistance was officially handed over to Belarus and put into use on the 6th. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko attended the ceremony and expressed sincere gratitude to China.

The Belarus International Standard Swimming Pool is a key project for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road". The total construction area is about 40,000 square meters and can accommodate more than 6,000 spectators. The building is mainly in red and white, the national pattern of Belarus, and the blue and purple of cornflowers are added to the interior. The shape of the building is five diamonds "hand in hand", symbolizing the everlasting friendship between China and Belarus.
Lukashenko visited the venue and watched the swimming, diving and synchronized swimming exhibitions on the same day. He said that the opening of this swimming pool is a milestone and will help Belarusian athletes achieve better results in the competition.

Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said at the ceremony that this swimming pool is a project that the heads of state of China and Belarus personally care about and promote. Over the past five years, the two countries' departments have worked closely together, and more than a thousand construction workers have worked together to overcome many difficulties and turn the project from blueprint to reality. China is willing to work with Belarus to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and make unremitting efforts to continue the friendship between China and Belarus from generation to generation.

The Belarus International Standard Swimming Pool meets the requirements of the World Swimming Federation and is qualified to host high-level professional competitions. It is the swimming pool with the highest standards in Belarus. During the off-season, the swimming pool will serve as the daily training base for the Belarusian national aquatic sports team and will be open to the public.

Beijing Construction Engineering Group is the general contractor of the Belarus International Standard Swimming Pool project. Jia Xianghui, head of the group's international department, said in an interview with reporters that one of the highlights of the project is green energy saving, which reflects the concept of sustainable development and reduces energy consumption and building operation costs.
