The El Espino Highway is 159 kilometers long and is constructed by China Railway Corporation. It is a core component of the Bolivia Highway 36 network passenger and freight line. Since its completion and opening to traffic in September 2023, the El Espino Highway has effectively promoted the export of agricultural and animal husbandry products in Santa Cruz Province, and strengthened the connectivity between eastern Belgium and neighboring countries such as Argentina.
The highway construction provides more than 3,000 jobs to the local area, effectively promoting the growth of people's income in surrounding areas.
