On October 28, 2018, Mr. Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, Deputy Director General of China Maritime Arbitration Commission and President of China Maritime Law Association (CMLA) attended and made remarks at the 2nd Assembly and Council Meeting of 14th CMLA in Shanghai.
Lu Pengqi acknowledged that the achievements made by CMLA over the past three decades can be largely attributed to the tremendous support and assistance offered by all president organizations, council organizations, council members and members. He pointed out that further efforts must be done in the future to explore how CMLA can play a more effective role in developing maritime law theories and their applications.
A work report was made by CMLA secretariat and special committees at the meeting and charter of the association and implementation details of the council election and leadership transition were reviewed and approved. A seminar with the theme of “Never Forget the Goal of Maritime Services and Shoulder the Historic Mission” was also held to mark the 30th anniversary of CMLA.
