Date:2018-11-28  Hits:24

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Starbucks Corporation agreed to further cooperation in enhancing exchanges and B2B match-making to build more platforms for Chinese and foreign enterprises.

The agreement was made as CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met with President and CEO of Starbucks Corporation Kevin Johnson in Shanghai on November 6.

Gao Yan hailed Kevin’s visit to China and participation in the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) and praised Starbucks Corporation as the only foreign sponsor of CIIE. Gao said, Starbucks’ development in China is a legendary story. From unknown to well-known, Starbucks has brought in its open production mode to China by opening a roaster at the bustling metropolis of Shanghai. Gao added, this is a success for the Starbucks’ business in China and also a success story for China’s reform and opening up in the last four decades. Gao said she hoped Starbucks can continue to create new business models to cater for the interests of Chinese consumers. CCPIT is willing to deepen cooperation with Starbucks in this regard.

Kevin conveyed his gratitude for CCPIT’s long-term support for Starbucks’ business in China, saying that Starbucks has been endorsing an open global trade and regarding China as the most important strategic cooperation market. January, 2019 will mark the 20th anniversary of Starbucks’ access to Chinese market. Starbucks will continue to create new business models, respect Chinese culture, and leverage Chinese market. Kevin said Starbucks will foster cooperation with CCPIT to jointly promote an open economy.
