An economic and trade cooperation forum between Ecuador and China was held in Guayaquil on November 30. Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gao Yan, Chinese ambassador to Ecuador Wang Yulin, high officials from Ecuador’s governments and Ecuador-China chamber of commerce attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Gao Yan said, Ecuador is China’s comprehensive strategic partner. The economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has seen rapid development. CCPIT is willing to work with Ecuadorian side to jointly promote practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. The two sides vowed to enhance cooperation in trade, infrastructure construction, energy, etc., explore cooperation potentials in emerging industries in cross border e-commerce and continue to create more information exchange platforms.
Meanwhile, Ecuador’s export and investment promotion agency briefed the participants about Ecuador’s investment projects and relevant policies. Representatives of Chinese and Ecuadorian companies shared experience in business cooperation. More than 150 delegates from both countries attended the forum and B2B match-making meeting.
