CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met with Secretary General of Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) Vicente Loscertales on December 11.
Vicente was in China for the First International Cooperation Forum on World Expo Development.
Gao Yan said, BIE is playing an increasingly important role in the international community as an intergovernmental organization engaged in coordinating and managing world expos. CCPIT participates in the work of BIE and world expos on behalf of the Chinese government and has always maintained close and friendly partnership with BIE. The First International Cooperation Forum on World Expo Development is a practical action for continuously expanding the impact of world expos and has gained broad attention and active participation from international partners. CCPIT is willing to work together with BIE to boost world expos to new levels and into broader areas. Gao Yan also shared China’s preparatory work for Expo 2019 Beijing and China Pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai.
Loscertales spoke highly of CCPIT’s work related to BIE and world expos and commended China for its contribution to promoting the development of world expos. According to him, BIE attaches great importance to the role and influence of China and is willing to strengthen cooperation with CCPIT.
CCPIT Vice Chairman Yin Zonghua was also present at the meeting.
